So todays tutorial is how to make a 3d flower just from using 3 pieces cut from the same flower punch. I learnt this technique at
Patcham Papercrafters from a lovely lady called Kathleen so I can't take any credit for it. However I LOVE it and I am sure I will be using it on lots of projects in the future. So how do you make them?.....
Cut 3 flowers using your punch, die cutting machine, or print out a flower shape and hand cut. You will need 3 flowers. If you want to ink the edges of the flowers to add shading now is the time to do it.
On the first flower cut a line to the middle point from inbetween two of the petals as shown.
On the second flower actually cut one petal away and on the third flower cut two petals off as shown. Put the off cuts to one side as you will need them for the centre of your flower.
Add glue to the petal above the cut you have made and then stick the petal below onto it as shown. As I used card for this flower I used wet glue but if using paper a glue stick would suffice.
Curl the edges of the petals by rolling them around a paint brush or pencil to form the flower shape. Repeat this with all 3 of the flowers.
Taking the two off cuts roll them up individually and put the smaller piece inside the larger one. When sticking these into the middle of the flower you may need to cut them down if they stick up to high from your flower.
Your 3 flowers should look something like this.
To stick the flowers together use silicone glue starting with the largest flower.
Add the next size flower on until you get to the rolled middle piece and then add this using the silicone glue.
